In 2nd Corinthians, 8:9, we see this about Jesus, For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.
Jesus is the one man in all the universe, who owns literally everything – all the universe. He was rich in every way, and yet He gave it all up on that cross so that we could gain everything in Him. Amazing.
We want to see more and more lives changed by Jesus, just like Jesus has changed our lives. He has saved us to be his disciples, and our mission is to make disciple-makers by prayerfully teaching His word, the Bible. Our vision is to see people connect to, grow in and with joy serve Jesus, so that others may too till He returns or calls us home. And we value Jesus more than anything else, so that one of the major values of our church is that “we treasure Christ together”.
This is who we are, by the generous grace of God in Jesus Christ, and we want to see this gospel, this good news, come to every home in Bendigo and beyond. We pray that many Bendigonians in spiritual poverty may become spiritually rich in Jesus Christ.
Gather with God’s people on Sunday 29th of October [Reformation Sunday] and be part of reforming our vision. We’ll see this all culminate with our AGM, glorifying God and enjoying Him for who He is and what He has done with a shared church lunch that day too.
This seeing lives changed by Jesus is our mission, our mountain to climb. It’s for the glory of God and for many people’s enjoyment of Him, that’s why we need to climb this mountain. So now, what are the means to climb it? It is through prayer, and the proclamation of the spirit-breathed gospel, that’s how. So let’s go!
