This coming Sunday we’ve invited local chaplains to come and share how they love their neighbour and serve Jesus in the community. These chaplains do so through a vareity of organisations and groups, and we’ll hear them interviewed about their work, we’ll be praying particularly for chaplains this Chaplaincy Sunday.
As we pray we’ll be asking the question of how chaplaincy works, by seeing that everyone needs a shepherd. Although chaplains can seem like that awkward person standing at the side of the party, it is their role to loiter with intent around people always being ready with the gospel. For when people walk through the valley of the shadow of death, in that pain it will be the chaplain who speaks about the shepherd who is ready to hold your hand so that you’re content, comforted and confident in the face of trouble.
