Secure in Christ

Everyone would like to be secure, no one wants to be insecure, and we can spend time and money trying to find the secrets to securing our future. But what if it wasn’t a secret?

Colossians 2:6-23 shows that it’s no secret but a public service announcement.

For those who have received Christ Jesus the Lord, life now and forever is a sure thing, and we heard this so clearly on Sunday as Rory Weightman explained Colossians 2 and proclaimed Christ.

For these last weeks of Spring we are being shaped by a series from the Book of Colossians that opens up the significance of what it means to be included in Christ. For it is Jesus who gave his up his life on the cross, to secure our life and eternity. We are secured by grace, secure forever, and so can rest assured of being secure not because of anything we have to do, but entirely because of who Jesus is and what he has done.

The good news is that Jesus changes everything.

This coming Sunday we’ll see how magnificent it is to be made new, to have a new self, a fresh start in Jesus Christ.

You’re invited to come along and see the difference that Jesus makes to everything.
