“Why do the nations rage?”, asks the song writer in Psalm 2. The writer at that time was King David (of Goliath fame), and he shows what what was true back then and is today – that people rage against God and God’s anointed King Jesus.
Why do people rage? Do you rage against Jesus, even quietly on the inside? God sees all, even and especially what’s going on on the inside, and He will bring an end to the raging on the Judgement Day. That’s scary stuff if you’re not for Jesus, but the good news is that God has provided a way of rescue from the rage that eats away at us and pushes us to punishment. Psalm 2 ends with that message: “Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”
The difference that Jesus makes to life now and forever is that he saves us from our sins of rage, and keeps us safe from the the just and right wrath of God against sin – all because of what he has done on the cross for us. Come and find refuge in Jesus.
