We Make Disciples

Our mission is really Jesus mission. He is the one who gave it to us, His church. This is what God is doing in the world, and He calls us to abandon our short-sighted ambitions and see His big picture plans. He invites us into His plans. Amazing.

Jesus says as he gives us a his great commission:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18 – 20)

We make disciples.

This also means that if we listen to Jesus carefully, to make disciples we will need to make disciple-makers. This is also wrapped up in the great commission, to make those disciples who can then go and make disciples of others.
