Our 1 Corinthians series we’ve called, ‘Reforming Church’

For twelve weeks this season, we are preaching, teaching and being discipled through the book of 1st Corinthians. It’s a letter by the Apostle Paul to the church of the regional city of Corinth. A church that needed  a good dose of God’s word – just like we do today. We see from the letter that the church back then was divisive and dysfunctional, which stemmed from their massive pride issues. It was a church where hot topics like sex, singleness, marriage, world religions, idolatry, personal rights and freedoms, men & women, the Lord’s Supper, spiritual gifts, love and resurrection are all engaged with. And in all things we will see how God brings the gospel to bear on all things, as we hear God speak to us from his word.

Our discipleship series in the book of 1 Corinthians looks like this:

1 Corinthians 1 ~ Proud people need the power of God

1 Corinthians 2 ~ Encountering God

1 Corinthians 3 ~ What is the motivation for ministry?

1 Corinthians 4 ~ How to be finally free from the prison of pride

1 Corinthians 5-6 ~ What have I to do with judging outsiders?

1 Corinthians 7 ~ Married? Single? And living out what you have been called to.

1 Corinthians 8-9 ~ How to have real rights, and therefore real freedom

1 Corinthians 10-11:1 ~ Flee from idolatry, and find joy in God’s glory

1 Corinthians 11:2-34 ~ Men & Women relating rightly, & love around the Lord’s Supper

1 Corinthians 12 – 14 ~ Spiritual gifts, love and building the body of Christ

1 Corinthians 15 ~ Remember the Resurrection

We pray that you can be reforming with us.
