We must see God’s plans before we make our own.
Last Sunday we saw God’s big vision of where we are going as his people, the church, in this world and what’s after all that. We saw this from the pages of Daniel 7, where ‘behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.’ (Daniel 7:13-14)
This Sunday we come to the start of our plans and prayers series, Reforming our Vision.
Our prayer is that we as a church would all be part of our season of re-visioning for 2019, 2020 and beyond. We pray that we would spend much time together praying through these plans for our church and our community. We pray that we would use our God-given talents together for body of Christ, and we pray that we would use our God-given treasure together for the glory of Christ.
So we gather with God’s people on August 25th, September 1st and 8th to be part of reforming our vision. We’ll see this all culminate with our Annual Congregational Meeting on September 8th, glorifying God and enjoying Him for who He is and what He has done.
For this Sunday you can read ahead in Psalm 90 and 2 Peter 3, and meditate on this word from God:
‘So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.’ (Psalm 90:12)
With numbered days, we praise.
