Do you want to be on the wrong side of history? When anyone asks this question the implied answer is “no”. It’s asked for all sots of reasons, but on Sunday we heard Steve Blyth from the Christian Union of La Trobe Bendigo speak of the most important area this question ought to be asked in: when it comes to who you see Jesus is. Many would say that we have ‘moved on from Jesus’, but to see what is really going on today is to see that everything is really moving towards Jesus.
This is God’s plan for the universe in big picture, as well as for every detail in that universe and plan, namely you. We will all meet Jesus one day, that’s an inevitability that is written into our destiny. Question is, do you trust in Him as your Lord and Saviour? For when it comes to Jesus, you really don’t want to be on the wrong side of history. And so here’s the good news: the very one who made all things, Jesus, is the one through whom all things can be reconciled to God – even God’s current enemies [Colossians 1:15 – 23].
You see, even though we broke all things between us and God and one another, it’s Jesus who is the only one who fixes all things in human history by his death on the cross. And this changes everything about your history, your present and future. If you trust in Jesus and have a right relationship with your Creator, then you’ll be on the right side of history.
